Skokie’s Spring Greening is a community fair for residents to promote sustainable and green living.

Now in its third year, the event will be held on Sunday, April 7 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Niles North High School. Residents are invited to drop off household items for recycling and reuse and to visit the indoor fair, featuring green products and services, sales of repurposed crafts, family activities, and lively music!

The event is a collaborative effort of the Skokie Park District, Niles Township High School District 219, Skokie Chamber of Commerce, Village of Skokie, Skokie Public Library, and over 80 helpful volunteers!

Recycling/Reuse Dropoff

The first Skokie’s Spring Greening held in 2011 was a resounding success! Since then, participation has grown, with 580 vehicles dropping off household items in 2012. This year, 23 recycling stations hosted by local businesses and organizations will be accepting household items, including clothing, batteries, extension cords, bicycles, electronics, medications, and more.
